Heritage Open Days
Every year, the Friends participate in the Heritage Open Days event. This is a free history event which encourages sites to open and share information. Every year, the HODs team pick a theme to inspire research which we quite often go with to make our events interesting and explore areas of Wombwell we might not have before!
If you didn't manage to catch our events, we've uploaded some of the key information we shared from each year. They are mainly tailored for printing and cutting out for the displays, so they may not always be set out in the best way.
If you would like any of the information sending to you, let us know!

2024: Making Connections

2025: How to Build a Cemetery
The theme was mainly focused on architecture for this one, so we decided to do a full step-by-step guide on how the cemetery was built, from start to finish. A lot of this information in particular was set out in a way to cut out and display, but we've tried to make it look a little better for viewing here in places.
